Question about crossing marans

I would recommend reposting your question in the "Exhibition, Genetics, & Breeding to the Standard of Perfection" or "General Breed Discussions & FAQ" section. I'm not positive, but I believe you get a splash by crossing a blue with a white, but it could be black...

Splash is the pure version of blue, so to get splash you need at least a blue rooster and a blue hen. 1/4 of chicks from this will be splash.

Your chances are much better using at least one splash parent- one splash with a blue= half splash, half blue.

If you only have a black copper roo, you won't get splash chicks out of him. Keep a blue son and then breed it with blue hens.
