Assuming that they are pullets, will a chick from a brown egg lay a brown egg? Is this true (or untrue) for blue, green, & white eggs. Thanks!

It depends on the egg color genetics from the rooster. If the hen lays a brown egg and she is bred to a rooster with a white egg gene, the resulting pullet will lay a lighter brown egg. If she is bred to a rooster with a green egg gene, the resulting pullet will lay an egg that may be green or brown. If the rooster has a blue egg gene, the resulting pullet will lay a green egg.

Generally, a chick from a brown egg will lay brown eggs. I expect that mating, say, an Easter Egger and a Orpington would produce different results.
