Question about egg fertilization

If you take a roo away from your hens how long could there eggs be fertilized by that roo? Does anyone know? I am in shock by the color of my babies feet. The dad is an Ameraucana and the mom is an EE with the standard EE colored feet. Then the babies feet turned out yellow. The last time another roo was with them has been a couple of months. Is it possible that he could be the parent?

A couple of months is too long.

Three weeks would be the maximum, I think.

Okay thanks, I just don't understand how my chicky got yellow feet.

EE's can have many different colored feet, so even if your EE doesn't have yellow feet, they could be carrying the yellow feet gene?
To be honest...i'm just taking a good guess at it

My Ameraucana is suppose to be a pure Ameraucana though. If neither of the parents have yellow legs wouldn't they both have to have a recessive young leg gene in order to have a baby with yellow legs. Does anyone know?
