How long will my chickens eggs stay fresh? I have about 22 hens and I get many eggs each day, if kept in a refrigerator, how long do the eggs last?

Hey Fernandez0067, welcome to BYC!!

Well, there's a very old Mother Earth News article on sampling 6 month old eggs . . . supposedly passed the taste test . . . !

I think the USDA says 3 to 5 weeks but they may be talking about store-bought for home economics concerns. One reason I want backyard chickens is so that I can have fresh eggs but I know the hens can get ahead of us. Freezing may be a choice.

I've had eggs last 3 months.
You can test them with a glass of water: if they float, they are too old.
