Question about eggs

I have had chickens for a few years now ( mixed flock) . I get eggs every day. I purchased some chicks to add to the flock last year. They are BCM hens. They have been laying about an egg a day for the past two months and are aprox 8 months old. About 2 weeks ago one of the BCM hens laid and egg with no shell or membrane - just yolk/egg white. She stopped laying eggs for about 2 weeks after this & then started laying again yesterday.
Anyone else ever have this happen?

One of mine will lay a shell-less egg every now and then, for no apparent reason. I can't tell most of their eggs apart, so I don't know whether one might have had a dry spell afterward. Here's a good source of info about many egg problems.

Thanks for the reply. All is well in the flock again. Eggs everyday from all. The BCM that layed the shell-less egg hasnt missed a day since her 2 wk vacation I had just never seen or heard of an egg being layed with no shell or membrane. I have heard of no shell but not just yolk/egg white. It was pretty strange.
