Hello... I am excited about both my girls laying now, but I have a question. They have been both laying in the same nest and I have been taking the eggs, one of my big chicken hens is breaking eggs. They usually lay the eggs in the morning between 6 am and 9 am. When I went to get the 2 eggs this morning they were really warm to the touch. The Cayuga was laying on them. How long does it take for the embryo to start developing if she was laying on them? The eggs will just get broken if I leave them and I was going to sell the eggs, but I don't want to give anyone rotten eggs that had started developing already. I just want to make sure that if she just lays on them for a couple hours after they lay, is it ok to take them? I never had this problem with my White Crested, she would lay and leave the nest immediately, so I knew there was no chance of starting the incubation process. Thanks...
