Since no one else has said it I will.
I'm a big fan of free ranging the kids
The neighbors might not agree. The house is so much cleaner and quieter when you kick the little punks (I mean precious children) outside.
Now that I got that out of my system. As long as they don't go after a hen and get her squawking or make sudden movements towards the roo they should be fine. Some roo's are more teratorial than others. So you'll have to weigh to good with the bad. The more dominate the roo the safer your hens will be while free ranging. If they get out of hand and your kids can no longer be free ranged with them
then I'd say it was time for some stew and find a new roo.
