Revised My Post

Okay, so I have Large and Bantams chickens, ducks, Royal Palm Turkeys, etc. I want to try pheasants, because I LOVE the golden pheasant. And I don't care much for Peacocks or Quails.

I am currently feeding Purina Flock Raiser and Medicated Chick Starter to the Chickens. The Flock Raiser to the Ducks and Turkeys. I am also going to try and get into geese. Well, I am thinking switching Game Bird Feed Starter and Layena Pellets. But I am also wanting to get into Guineas and Geese. Can baby chicks, Goslings, and Ducklings eat Game Bird Starter? But then do I have to switch feeds for the Pheasants like starter, to a finisher, and then to an Adult food?

But I am also wanting to get into showing poultry. What do I feed the show birds?

Kind of confusing, I know. I am not getting the others right now. Just looking around. I also have to pick up my pens from my Aunt's and Sister's homes

If memory serves me, waterfowl are NOT supposed to eat medicated chick starter. Something about the levels they get from the feed are dangerous to them. When we had ducklings I used a non-medicated game bird starter on them.

Game bird starter has a higher protein content than chicken starter, and I'd think there's some risk in feeding that to chicken chicks as a sole feed. I generally stick with the Start-N-Grow for them (we use the Purina feeds). However, I have a hen who raised a chick successfully on a 50-50 mix of Flock Raiser and Layena Crumble.

I don't show, so I don't have any suggestions regarding the show birds.

Okay thank you. I really like the Flock Raiser, it works great. I feed chicks and turkey Poults it. We also fed our ducks it. Everyone is doing great. And we haven't had a strange egg, yet. Except a shell-less a injured hen laid. Knock on wood.
