I keep a mixed flock and am familiar with the main breeds I keep, but I picked up a Golden Phoenix pullet at the poultry sale last month just because I had the room and she was so pretty. I don't know much about the breed, and I don't plan to breed her. The seller said she was about a month from laying, but she looked much smaller than my standard birds her age. I asked if she was bantam, and they said no. I thought she might just be on the smaller side, but she hasn't grown nearly at all over the past month.
So, my uneducated question is: How big will she get?
If she will be bantam-sized or very small, I am afraid she might not be able to be housed with my main flock which has a standard, Speckled Sussex roo. What do you think?
