Question about Golden Retrievers.

I'm getting my golden retriever pup January 24th but I have a question. The parents are a dark brownish color.
(Not golden) and I was wondering, will the pups be the same color? Or could they be a yellow golden color?

Depends on what other shades there are in the pedigrees of each parent. Generally, the color of the puppy doesn't change as it ages. So if you want a lighter colored Golden, pick a lighter colored pup. If you want a darker red, pick a darker colored pup.

the breeder should be able to tell you what color to expect the pups to be. You not only have to look at the parents but the grandparents, aunts, uncles and farther back in the pedigree to see what the coats are like.
There are a couple different genes that control coat color in the breed

Look at the ear colour of the pup. That's a pretty good indicator of adult coat colour.

I am on my 3rd Golden. Yep, I'm old. Love them! Yes, there is a chance of the litter throwing a true Golden, a dark red, or light golden...or, there could even be one or 2 in there with white on them. Yes, there are pure goldens with white. Lets see if I can find a couple of photos here on my phone. You will have to share photos of your new baby when you get him/her. You will see a difference in their coats for sure, even as pups. Here is my fisrt boy. True Golden.
