Hey all

A few weeks ago I bought a nurture right 360 to replace my farm Innovators incubator. It has been absolutely amazing! However tragically a week and a half after beginning my first batch in the new incubator I came home from work to discover it had gotten unplugged! And not only had it been unplugged for at least a few hours I had also ran out of propane for my heat that day so the house was cold and the incubator was at 65 degrees Fahrenheit 😞

I was devastated. I thought for sure I had lost the entire hatch. I plugged it back in and checked all the eggs the following day to see my damages. Several had died. I still had 14 alive. So I left them be. I checked again about three days later and found that five more had quit, it appeared that they must have died not long after the incident. At day 18 I checked again one final time before locking down the incubator and all the remaining 9 eggs were still lively. I am wondering now, if these eggs do hatch are they likely to hatch late? And how late? I'm worried about having locked them down too early. They are all Silkie and Silkie/d'uccle eggs.

Tomorrow is day 21. They're in lock down currently. Hoping for the best, these 9 made it all this way hoping I still get some healthy little babies 🤞

I’m no expert, but the eggs could be delayed in hatching. Sounds like it was only off a few hours though, so you were still good to lockdown when you did. As long as the rest of the incubation was at the accurate temps and humidity, then the delay should only be the same l amount of time it was off or the eggs cooled. I’m glad some made it! Good luck!
