I posted this in the quail forum but was advised by someone to post here too. Thanks!

Hello everyone, I'm incubating my first batch of quail eggs. Tonight would be considered the beginning of day 12 and I just candled the six (of 12) that i was able to see veining on when I candled on day 6. (Wow, hopefully that makes sense). I am now thinking that I am down to 3 viable eggs, but I have not removed any at this point.

I have been reading up on what to do in the case of strange looking air cells. I do not think that any of them are actually detatched but they are definitely not quite normal. There is a saddle shape, but it only entends downward on on one side. They have been on their side in the incubator with an automatic turner, but I'm wondering now if i should have paid the extra 20$ for the turner that holds the eggs more upright. Anyway. I'm looking for opinions on if I should stop turning early and put them blunt end up in an egg carton for the rest of the hatch like people have recommended with chickens. Or should I just leave them be?

Thanks for any thought or opinions! I've learned a lot from reading posts on here for a while now and I figure I might as well jump in the community!
