Question About Heat Lamp

I wonder if the the folks replying to this thread
realize that -35C is the same as -31F??



exactly a dome I tried to find mine but was told it had been taken to the barn the dome can be for little peeps or anything your worried about but lets the birds have the choice
Do you mean the mama heating pads for brooding chicks?

I do, but I still wouldn't be using a heat lamp with grown chickens because the risk of the birds flying into it and breaking the bulb and starting a fire. I would look into some of those wall heat plates. We have been close to -30 at times and my chickens are fine. The OP didn't specify if its a long term temperature or just occurs in spurts like it does here.

So much heat lamp bashing for chick use, but than to encourage the use of it on older birds when it can be dangerous seems off to me, but they aren't my birds. I just know that most every barn or shed fire around here in winter is caused by a heat lamp. No disrespect to anyone, just my thoughts.

any heating pad without a timer is cheaper to buy then the mama brooder that is very small he has a few year old birds he is concerned for also asked him not use a heat lamp told him how to make a tent style with hardware cloth
