Question about hen and egg

Where I live we're having a major snow storm. If I loose power I might have to bring in my hen and roo. But my promblem is she sitting on a egg, Has been for two weeks. I need to know will it bother her to bring her and her egg in. Plus this would be a first for me can the roo be with her and the chick ? Really need to know! Worried in delaware. Lilytoes

Hard to tell. Some hens you can move all around and they won't give up. Some quit on the slightest change.
All I can suggest is to try to scoop her, the egg & the bedding she's on and put it all in a big box or a cage covered with a sheet so she can't really see her new surroundings too much. I'd keep the roo separate. If you think the hen is in danger of not surviving the storm, I'd just move her somewhere safe so at least she is ok, even if she gives up on the egg.
But I hope she continues to sit for you.

Thank you so...much for the info! You said that maybe I should seperate the roo from the hen an egg. Would he try to hurt them or anything. Cause as of right now they're all together.

I think you may be overly worried about nothing. Chickens have feathers. Feathers are warm insulators. When it gets colder they puff them up to provide even more insulation.. People in Alaska keep chickens Your birds should be just fine if they are out of the draft.

I meant if you bring the hen in & put her in a cage/box, to not put the roo in there w/ them.....

do you have a heat lamp or a heated coop? Is that why you are worried about power going out?

Yes that is why I was worried. It's been getting in the teens around here. A friend of my had one of his freeze to death.
