Question about incubated eggs

Hey, so i have a broody chicken sitting on about 12 eggs and i was wondering if i should candle the eggs under her. My parents told me not to because it would upset the chicken. So i was wandering should i candle the eggs at all? I am afraid a bad egg might explode under her and kill the other chicks. If so when should i. The eggs are on day 6. Please respond thank you.

That's what makes broody hens so great. You don't have to do anything.
You would likely smell any bad egg.

X2, but if you absolutely must, wait until she gets off the nest to eat or drink. But it isn't necessary with a broody.
