question about "lock down" - Brooder baby pic

So now there are a total of 9 chicks if I counted the squirming masses right. There are 2 more zipped. I took 2 and put them in the brooder, the others are still soaking wet (even the ones from yesterday morning???). Should I take them out and wrap them up or dry them or something?

All 11 chicks are doing ok it seems. I have moved 5 to the brooder, I set them under the light and they promptly fell asleep. The others are still too wet so I will see about movign them tomorrow.

As far as the rest of the eggs - I want to leave them a few more days. Can I clean up the incubator some though? or just remove the chicks and get the temp / humidity back up?

Wow!

Congratulations! It gives me hope that I might get some chicks despite the varying temps in my LG. Not due 'til the 22nd though. At least after reading this I'll know a little more what to expect. Thank you! (Oh, and I vote on just moving the little guys if you want to give the eggs a little more time. Cleaning could cool it too much and maybe shrink wrap the chickies.)

I have been useless at home and at work while they have been hatching!! If I am home am hovering over the incubator (and now the brooder) and if I am at work I am THINKING about being at home hovering over the incubator and brooder! HA

So I guess I will just take the chicks out tomorrow and add fresh wet paper towels.


Believe me - if these eggs managed to hatch these are some pretty tough little birds. If it could go wrong or be done wrong we covered it at my house!@

Oh wow the page just updated- they are cute as could be! Congrats!
(I spend an excessive amount of time peering in the incubator, and then the brooder, and then outside to check on the big girls, and then back to the incubator, over to the brooder... busy all day and people wonder what I do heehee!)
