Question about Maran eggs

Whoever posted that ad is taking on a huge liability claiming that they can never get salmonella!! Wonder how long before some sue crazy fool gets salmonella and slaps her with a lawsuit!!! It's your perogative as to whether to flag it or not. Unfortunately I haven't found where CL gives you anywhere to state why you flagged it. I have one Maran that is laying and 12 more on their way to it. I have not noticed any difference in her eggs compared to the others. Her ad also states that the Marans are laying a terra cotta egg. Terra cotta is what the Welsummers should be laying. Marans if a good line will lay the dark mahogany eggs. I would also ask for proof of the bloodlines. Anyone can post that they have chickens from some well known line!!!

I understand I saw an add on CL that said our eggs are completely vegetarian and since we have no roosters your eggs will not have blood spots.

So true!

The only egg that I have tasted a difference in is a duck or goose egg.

So it seems the little group here is right and anyone else is stupid. Don

No one said anything about you being stupid.....just because we don't think they taste any different?

You must have a sensitive palette.....I've eaten a lot of both my Marans eggs and my other eggs over the years and can't tell any difference in them.

Just recently I gave away several dozen eggs and afterward ask people if there was any difference in the eggs. 100% said they were different. The part that I do not like is the poster is trying to interfer in someone else's business. I guess some just do not have anything else to do with their time. Don

100% said they were different? Different than WHAT? Store eggs? Well Yeeeah...Different from EE's or RIR eggs grown in the same conditions as your Marans? I doubt it. What they eat influences what the egg tastes like.
