I was changing 'food' in my mealworm bins, and I noticed that one of them had some buried carrots
Most of the carrots were very dark brown, and the brown 'dirt' is moving?? I'm hoping these are itty bitty, teeny tiny worms, but I don't know if they are quite that tiny when they hatch? It is only on the bottom of one bin, the other 2 don't have this.
I'm not sure that it's mites, since there isn't anything like this on the top of the substrate? I have to dig down into it to find this, and it's only in one certain area, not the whole thing.
Anyone else experience this? Please don't tell me it is mites!
