Question about my ducklings

I miss my boy being a baby.

Thanks, yeah they grow so darn fast :(

I have another question... At what age can I leave their swimming/bath water overnight? In case you haven't read, I have them in an outdoor bird proofed kennel with a tin roof and cement bottom. I live in Louisiana so it is hot during the day and warm at night. But even still, due to their baby down feathers I have been afraid to leave their bath/swim water overnight just incase of them catching a chill. They can get in and out fine so drowning is not my concern

Well in Kentucky I see ducks swimming at night in water that's half way frozen. But I'd wait till they get a bit more feathered out before leaving that in overnight just to be safe.

Yeah cuz I think it's okay when they have their mom because their mom oils them down. Otherwise I think I'm supposed to wait until they are feathered so they have the oils. How many feathers they need to produce the oil they need, I have no idea.
Virus... Your duck is so cute and photogenic

Yours should be making oil by now but to be honest with you I have completely forgotten what age Odette was when he started being able to float. I just kept putting him in water and see if he could float or not. He hated water when he couldn't swim but he loves it now. He turned two months old yesterday and he swims fine. Also I'll tell him you said that.

I think I will wait on that then. They have their drinking water and food and a bowl where they can dip their heads in because I know they need to be able to completely submerge their beaks.
Side note, when I went out to them tonight they were bug catching like crazy, so cute. I've seen them eat bugs before but the one I think is a drake saved me from a spider tonight lol and they liked that my light attacked moths and stuff. Good times

Awwwwww that's adorable!!!!! Enjoy your fluffy babies while there little cause one day their balls of fluff next their the size of a football and chasing chickens.
