question about my hen

she hatched out 3 babies about 3-4 weeks ago and the last 2 days ive found an egg just laying in the middle of the run.... think i could incubate them? i thought she wasnt going to lay untill they was about 6 week?

Is she the only adult chicken in the run? If so, they might not be fertilized. They might not be fertilized anyway, actually, if she is as grumpy a momma as my hens are... I think laying is a sign that they'll stop parenting the chicks within a few weeks.

would not hurt to incubate then candle on the 4th or so day that would answer you question
