Question about Nest boxes

What is the proper distance between each nest box?
I keep thinking its like 2 sqft.

My nest boxes are 12" X 12" square and I use white pine needles. Depends on what breed you have. Mike

2 ft square sounds good for a nestbox size. They can be bigger, but I wouldn't go any smaller than 14in square. A foot square is okay if you have a small breed. But they typically like some space.
