Question About Ordering Hatching Eggs

Personally it depends on the time of year whether or not I let eggs 'rest'. Letting them come to room temperature when temps are low is the ONLY time I let them 'rest' outside of the bator to avoid condensation build-up on the shell. If the eggs are not cold when I get them, they go into a 'bottom' egg carton and right into the hatching incubator (unless something is hatching) or on the side of the turner in the incubating incubator. This starts day 1. On day 2, 24 hours later, they go into the egg turner with all the other eggs.

I have spoken with several people that have tried resting them at room temp *when the eggs are not cold* versus putting them immediately in the incubator. Hatch rates increase dramatically during warmer months when the eggs are put in upon arrival. The theory behind this is that the eggs start developing while in transit during warmer weather, and 'resting' them for 12-24 hours kills the developing embryo. If egg stability is in question (moving air cell, etc), put them in the bator and don't turn them for the first day.

This is what works for me.
