I noticed my girls laying thinner shelled eggs recently. I picked up a bag of manna pro oyster shell, but was surprised by the appearance. It has some large pieces, but a lot of it is very powdery. Is this normal, or did I get a bad bag?

I get the small bag- I sift the bag when I open it and put the pieces in a dish in the coop. When the pieces are gone, I mix the powder in their oatmeal, kitchen scraps, seed cakes, etc., until it's gone. I don't really measure, just put about a tablespoon in and stir it up. Seems to be working so far... I pay $8.75 for the small bag at my feed store, so I don't want to waste any!

It is normal. They will eat it
