Question about Polish (golden lace) color

I bought some hens as pets.. so this is a question out of being curious.. not out of breeding or showing.. They have white tips on the feathers on their heads, they didn't before they started molting, the lady I got them from isn't a real Polish person and I bought what she had, 3. She seems to think the white will go away after the molt.
Im more to the thought that the white came IN with the molt..

I really don't care and it helps me tell them apart, but it would be nice to know, and also learn something about Polish at the same time. These are my first Polish ever and Im In LOVE with them.. what cool birds.

Thank you, I met the lady here on this forum, she lived only 26 miles from me.. so bought some chickens and made a new freind from this board.. She does take wonderful care of her birds. I loved seeing them. She has Blue Orphs Im dying to get my hands on some eggs this spring.

I see, the crest on them is quite pretty. Hmmmm, does she sell any other breeds? And does she ship? -would love to buy a hen for my next SAE project, in FFA.-

I bought her out of Polish with 3 hens and a nice rooster.. I would be happy to send you a chick or even some eggs this spring if you like.

She does have quail antwarp (sp) Blue Orphs and some others. She is EmptyNest here on the board. I didn't see a skinny or sick bird on the place. It was clean, and all the birds had a nice shine and were very healthy and well bred. She has a show type Rose comb RIR that was to die for. Im NOT in any way a RIR person.. but that rooster was AWESOME! I didn't see if she had hens to go with him.. She is like me and seperates the hens and roos for the winter.. so all the roos were in one very large horse stall ( or a few stalls combined) and the hens were all in a hen house. So really can't mentally place what she had matched up.

omg, you really have no idea how much i want that hen of yours. seriously, one of the nicest looking ones i've ever laid my eyes on, and i've seen a lot of polish.

as for the white tips. could be age, but generally for showing you don't want white tips or solid white feathers in a laced bird. considering the quality of the lacing of that bird and the cleanness of its tail though i thinkit would do quite well at a show.

send me an email please. i'd like to find out more of the background of this bird, i've been breeding large fowl bearded gold laceds for quite a few years and would love to know where this awesome lil hen came from. i can also help you learn more about the breed, maybe we can even work something out (loan of a rooster or something )

What a wonderful comploment.. I will have to tell the girls.. I actually bought 3 of them, and a rooster from the lady.
I have PMed you.. so you know the story.
I always wanted a Polish golden and now I guess I have a good start.. They are a pretty breed, and so sweet.

I will get some pics of the rooster tomarrow if he is where I left him tonight.. I trimmed his wings ( and the girls wings) as they need to stay in thier pens (grrrr) This Am the roo (Kramer) has flown the coop, a 5' fence with trimmed wings.. so I trimed them back more... *sigh* and will see if he has mannaged to stay put tomarrow.
