We got our first rooster back in Feb. He should have been a she,but that is how it goes. We have never had a rooster before so if I should like I do not know what I am talking about, that is why.
We have 6 hens. 5 of them came with him. They were all a few days old. The other, a red, is 2 yrs old and the only survivor of a dog attack that killed her 5 mates.
Our big boy has just "found" his voice. He crows.....a lot. Most of the day and even in the coop at night. Is this normal for a young man? Will he chill out and tone it down as he gets older or is this just the way he is. Are some just more vocal then others?
So far it is not a problem, but it goes on non stop, and I do worry it will start to bother some.I have let everyone around us know to let us know if it is an issue, but so far everyone is OK with him.
Is this just the way he is?
