Is it better to roll the egg 180 degrees, or is it better to tip it back and forth?

The egg turner pictures just look like they tip a few degrees each way.

Thanks for answering this. It's been drowning me in rain today and I've been outside, not checking in lately. That's correct, you would tilt back and forth.
If you have the eggs laying on their sides like under a hen and not aircell up, then you put an X on one side and an O on the other. Then when you turn, you use your palm to just carefully roll them from where they are to the other side. The markings make sure you turn every one properly.

It seems that tipping a holder from outside the incubator would be much less traumatic to the eggs. I will try to figure out a method to do that.

Thanks,
Marcus
