Question about sexing chicks?

I am going to hatch out some barred rock and buff orpington chicks and was wondering about wing sexing. Will this work on these breed of chicks or is that something that the hatcheries have to breed into to them or something?

Well, I'm sure you can with relative accuracy, but I'd like to put it out there that for the BRs you can sex fairly well by head spots.

Feather-sexing has to be bred into them, so unless your chicks come from lines with that trait already established, you won't be able to use that method reliably.
