Hi all, new poster here. I've been reading the forums a lot as I've started incubating recently, so I thought I should join the forum!

I have some shipped eggs in my incubator. Started morning Friday 18 Dec.

I've made a couple of mistakes. I thought I saw one pipping around day 15 so I upped the humidity early. But I think it was just a mark on the shell. So the air cells are probably too big.

I think the temp was also a bit low. Where the thermometer is has been spot on, but I've recently discovered the edges are lower which is where I've had the eggs. I'm thinking they've been about 1 deg Celsius too low, possibly the whole time ( I had them around the edges).

I candled yesterday, thinking it was getting on a bit and I may as well check. I can still see movement in one. About 7 went into lockdown and there's about 5 still in.

What to do? Just keep waiting?

So I originally thought Friday was day 22 (counting the first day they went in as day 1) but I've been reading that people actually call the next day day 1. So that would make it the start of day 23 today.

It's a bit tricky because I have another batch of eggs waiting. Because I thought this batch would be out Thurs/Fri/sat, thinking it could be earlier since they're bantams. But I think the lower heat has slowed it...

Ok thanks. I've put the next catch of eggs in (upright in a carton) and will just up the humidity a bit more if I see pipping. Can't afford to muck up the whole next batch just on the off chance someone hatches.

Er... how do you plan on turning the eggs if there's chicks hatching in there? :p

Did you lock them down at day 15?

Yeah I think it was around then that I thought I saw a pip and upped humidity to around 50% just in case.... I only upped to 70ish around the normal time.

If chicks do hatch I'll just treat it like a staggered hatch, I think that's what people call it
