Question about shipping

    Im buying a pair of young barred cochins (standard) from a lady in PA, Im in IA.. neither of us have a clue as to what we need to do.. where the best place to buy a shipping box is, etc..

    Can anyone give me a 101 course on shipping?

    Here is a place to get shippers..they must have biofilters for started/adult birds.


    The PO has rules regarding shipping or you can review it in the domestic shipping manual on their web site. Started/adult birds are shipped Express. Put some shavings or hay in the bottom of the box. You can add a piece of fruit and some grains to hold them over in case of shipping issues, however they usually arrive within 1-2 days.
