My husband's family (parents, 3 brothers, their families & their respective families), some friends and us are going in together on 100 meat birds. I need to know what kind of space to have for them. I don't want to spend a lot of money nor do I want to have to move or mow around something for 10 months out of the year. And I don't want to house them with my other chickens. Any suggestions would be great. I need something that I can set up and take down til the next season to do it again. Thanks in advance.

You hear between 1 SF and 2 SF per bird for meat birds, who'll only be around 8-12 weeks. If you plan to keep them confined, I think you need to go on the higher end and move the shelter. If you allow them outside during the day, you can go to the smaller end of the scale.

This is so crazy that it kept me up for most of the night. Even after I fell asleep I dreamed about it. I wouldn't be freaking out so bad if we weren't getting an additional 25 birds on the 31 of this month to include the feathered leg group, assorted cochins, spitzhauben, white crested and salmon favorelles in addition to the 20 that we already have. You see where I'm going to have to send out a search party for my mind? Just trying to figure out how to accomodate everyone so they stay happy and healthy. Thanks for the advice I've received so far.
