Question about switching to layer feed.

Ok my girls are going to be 18 weeks on Monday. I have maybe 10 pounds of start n grow left. Should I go get some layer and start mixing the feeds now since I do have some chick feed left? I have to get some more feed Monday anyway and instead of getting 50 pouunds of start n grow (which is the smallest ammount they sell) I could just get layer and start them on that with a bit of left over chick feed in it. Right?

I would just get layer, if using a drop feeder mix the two till grower is gone, If using purina, that is when i switched to pellets insted of the crumbles, spose to cut down the waste

I use Southern States brand feed. The layer comes in crumbles and pellets. So pellets are best? I was thinking about just getting crumbles because of Blind Tiny. She can't eat anything unless it's mashed or crumbled. She doesn't know how to peck, it's weird. I have to smash banana with my hand then rub the mush on her beak to get her to eat it.
