Question about turkeys

I have a chance to get a 2 year old sweet grass hen for 25.00 is that a good deal? and how long do hens lay?

I would think that's not a bad deal if...the farm is well kept, they have other birds with no signs of diseases, the bird is truly a sweetgrass, its not too small, you have other turkeys to keep it company, and it really is only 2 years old. The risk of bringing in a disease would be my greatest concern.
