Question about VS form 9-3

With states differing so greatly over liberal and conservative views why would they be any different when it comes to poultry. The Federal Laws set up the guidelines. From there each state is free to differ in their own rules as long as they follow the basics. Most states allow NPIP flock owners to be testers. It saves the states a lot of time and money letting the owners do their own testing.

My hopes of getting NPIP certified are probably shot since I’m in NJ. They like to have extra hoops to jump through with a higher price tag.

Actually dear frustrated chicken friend.. As much as I HEAR what you are saying.. fact is science changes EVERY DAY..

Also regardless of what "science" (being only what we can perceive or theorize and test) presents.. we don't all carry the same thought process or assign the same moral value and having states with individual freedoms under one overseer is WHAT made the US the USA..

Buying NPIP birds does NOT protect your flock from Marek's.. or even regulate some of the more important diseases chickens face.

Some states offer their NPIP testing for free.. while others charge up the wazoo making it impossible for the little guy to break in.

I value what little bio-security NPIP does offer, recognizing that it too has it's limits and can be a false sense of security for some. I support and buy only NPIP (chick or egg) stock and hope to get NPIP myself.

But I want to thank you for caring enough to take the time and look into the laws etc.. It helps protect all of us (the little people) and the few freedoms we do still have like keeping back yard flocks. Thank you also poster who have dealt with their home states for sharing you experiences!

You also don't need to teach me about how NPIP works. I have NPIP certified flocks.

This is still a Christian country with 65% of the population being such. Despite the attempts by the socialist and progressives to wipe us out.

Science plays a very small part in what we do or laws we have. Dominance, power and money do.

Do you really think a piece of cloth will stop a virus? If so why do we wear latex gloves instead of cloth gloves while sampling birds?

Question, since many of you that responded have or have had NPIP flocks.
We are looking to certify Chinese Geese 3 are brown and 1 is white. Do you think people would be interested in buying a mixed color offspring or would it be better to split the white one out? My thoughts at this point would be to sell 3 eggs together at a time so people will likely end up with 1 gosling from each female goose.
