Hello everyone! I have 25 young pullets who will be at point of lay come June 30th, I have already seen a very few tiny starter eggs
over the past 2-4 weeks and it's been sporatic at best. Now my
questions are #1 How soon will they start laying larger eggs,
#2 How soon will they start becoming consistent with their laying?
#3 How big of a role does the heat play in beginner layers?
Once I started seeing the tiny starter eggs I transferred them to the
adult coups and started them on layers crumble & oyster shell. Should I be doing anything else to help them along? Thanks for any help you may offer as I want to do this all right!

I don't have nearly as many birds as you, but I can tell you how things went here.

Mine all started laying between 20-25 weeks. It took them a couple of weeks to get consistent.

The tiny pullet eggs (pretty much "extra small" to "small" in size) continued for about 6 months. They gradually got larger, and now that they are a year old, an egg fills the cup of the large/ extra large egg carton with no room to move around in it.

It is pretty hot here, but that didn't seem to affect their laying at all.

Maybe someone with more birds can give you more info than this.

Thank you so much for your reply, as you can probably tell I am a bit impatient here

it's hard to find just 1 or 2 of these bullet sized eggs while waiting for the cycle to kick in. I guess they will start laying better soon. Here's hoping they don't wait til the end of the month to kick in gear
