Yay!!We have had two broods of BBB turkeys, the first brood was about 8 poults, second was about 5. Some eggs didn't hatch. We let the mums incubate the eggs naturally then removed the babies after hatching as they were on a high shelf in the chook yard with mixed poultry. We lost a couple in the first couple of days as our heat lamp bulb blew in the night. It was August last year so still pretty chilly night temps.
For best results with natural breeding of broad breasted turkeys, use only yearling hens and yearling toms as your brood stock. The older and heavier they get, the less successful they become at natural breeding.QUESTION : Anyone have success naturally breeding BBB broad Breasted Bronze Turkeys?

Good luck with your incubation, hope everything works out for you and your turkey eggs. Love to see pics of your new poults after they hatch. Again happy hatching.Got our incubator going with the 4 turkey eggs and some chicken eggs... and the Styrofoam incubator that we use just for lockdown and hatching now has 10 more turkey eggs in it that require 5-7 manual turns a day.... So EXCITED. alarm reminders going off on my phone to turn eggs...
... lol not sure how long till it starts getting annoying to the family.
Using a queen sheet and a pot of steaming hot water to "tent"🏕 over myself and incubator with pot next to incubator. I wait a minute and try to pull in the sheet so no gaps, and only lift the incubator lid as much as I need to get my hands in to turn the eggs.
We had issues with shrink wrapped chicks. And they are all buried by the roses, but we try to minimize losses.
Didn't want to miss out if these were the last turkey eggs of the season to wait for the nice little incubator to be empty.
