Question : Bloody Egg

How likely is it that a hen who has been laying for about 1 month would lay an egg today with a bit of blood on it?

It's pretty normal. The egg goes through quite a bit of developement while it's inside the chicken, the shell being the last part to form. Any number of things might have happened, like the chicken getting a minor cut while laying. Unless it is a LOT of noticeable blood, I wouldn't worry. You could also contact a local vet that knows chickens to find out some more info.
