Babies come this week...coop will be 16" off ground enclosed with panels from wire corn crib covered with hardware cloth....We will put 2 panels from corn crib on the ground and place coop above them...hardware cloth will fold over 6" to the inside....is 6" enough for security with the panels also???

I would bend the wire to the outside. The reason is to keep things from digging in not so much need to keep chickens from digging out. I would go at least 12 inches myself. STRONG panels from the look of them. Good choice. It looks like a very strong construction. I like it.
