QUESTION: ducklings that peep when you leave them

I got such a kick, and a good laugh out of this thread that i had to join you all. I'm pretty new to ducks-I've had them for about two months now. I had a mallard, and a Rouen which I ended up selling so now I have 2 Anconas, and 1 Chocolate Indian Runner. My Anconas are about 4 weeks old, while my runner is only two weeks I think. Because of their size difference they're only together when I'm watching them... Today I let the Ancona's play outside while it was nice, and a while later I let my runner come out to see the "big kids". She looks up to them like a younger sibling would-and doesn't want to be left out! The Ancona's were spooked a little which sent them running. Well, my runner was NOT going to be left behind! It was the cutest thing to see her little feet waddling as fast as they could go!

My runner also does the cry for mama when I leave the "brooder room". Because of the set up of that room, she can't see me when I first walk in, but she's learned to recognize the sound of the door opening, and the wood floor creaking so she begins her happy/excited peeping before she even sees whose coming.

I think the worst is just limiting myself-and having to choose what breeds to keep..
