I am just starting out with bantam Cochins. They come in lots of colors and variety. So far I have the following:

°Roosters
•Light Mille Fleur
•blue splash silkie/b.cochin cross
•blue/red laced
•Splash

°Hens
• not sure if she is partridge or red (has some black around her neck area)

°Chicks
•all came from a mottled rooster to mottled hens and BBS hens- some of the chicks look like they will be brown and blue some just blue. Other look mottled and some black. Some appear splash as well.

What I am wondering and looking for is a color chart for breeding different varieties of bantam Cochins. Does anyone have them?

Also would love to see side by sides of what your chicks looked like as hatchlings vs what they matured out to be

What color varieties do you need to make certain colors?

What varieties are recessive? Dominant? Is there anything I need know like with Orpingtons and the chocolate gene- that makes are the only ones that carry that gene recessively - are there specific colors that shouldn't be crossed because they cover each other up? Etc?

With the colors I have so far what should I get to add to the mix and can I use what I already have to do breeding pens?

I also have silkies in silkie, satins, and frizzles

And some of my Cochins are frizzle too
