Question for Serious Silkie Breeders

Sorry in advance if this a dumb question...

Do you cross bearded and non-bearded Silkies? Is it best to keep them seperate so you do not down-breed beard fluff and/or quality? Or is this not an issue?

Best to keep them seperate. you dont want your bearded silkie to throw non bearded chicks.

SundownWaterfowl is right they should be seperated. I only have bearded silkies so i am seperating by color once spring comes.

They are right. Don't mix them. I have bearded white & splash and they are in their own pens.
