Hello. Just back in town after seven months. There is a chicken auction in Harper Tx tomorrow and I want to start my flock over because I had to give them away when I left. I want about 10 hens. AT this time of year, what would be the best size of layers to try and find? I would like to have eggs. Should I wait till fall? for chicks? know there are a lot of depends but overall, what you all think? A big thank's in advance.

well I would buy older hens from a breeder or hatchery , I won't buy birds from the auction there are too many diseases out there and it would just take one to be sick and then your starting over a third time. IMO
