I recently built actually rebuilt an incubator out of wood. It is approx the same size as yours. I used the parts that came with the Sportsman that was falling apart and I did replace the heating element. It comes with six insulators and looks like spring. Freight costs more than the coil. It is plenty of heat for my incubator. I beleive 225 watts
I was lucky enough to find a Sportsman that had been left in the weather for a long time and the cabinet had completely disintegrated. It has the turner electronic thermostat and all. Bought it for 30 bucks and used one sheet of 3/4 plywood to build the cabinet. Holds temp to within 2 tenths of a degree.
