Question for those that brood in their coop

I have a brooder under my poop board and use a MHP for a heat source. I am thinking about making a small run (2'x6') off of the brooder inside my main run. What age would you let chicks into this?

I normally open chick doors on the brooder around 4 weeks old and have safe areas for the chicks to get away from the big ones, thinking with a little run they would have the option to go out there away from the big ones if they want.

Where I am going to put the mini run? Right now it would just look like a section of my reg run since I haven't built it yet. It is a covered run with 1/4" hardware cloth around it.
