Yes. When I was younger, the coops made for good "jail cells" for the younger siblings. :D
Only downside was when they caught me and sent me to "jail." They never did lock me in the coop that still had chickens in it. 😒
 
No. That's a childish thing to do, lock someone in on purpose, except if they are trying to catch a bird. But as a response of them annoying you or something, that's childish. Just get into a fist fight, like we used to do
 
Never had a lock on a coop. If I were locked in just climb out the double hung 3/0 5/0 window. Duh
 
Coop, no. Run, yes; myself. The latching mechanism was "lock in-proof," or so I thought. It wasn't locked, just twisted around, and jammed. Fortunately, hubby was home and I had my phone on me.

Now I always check to make sure I have my phone with me.
 
I'm an oldest sibling who never quite learned why it wasn't appropriate to lock siblings up the way you would any other animal. So, yep, and not just chicken coops. There's lots of different types of animal enclosures on a ranch.
