This is all I've really known, but a time when your work didn't expect to reach you 24/7 sounds nice, so maybe the 70s?

Take me back to when the loudest sound a person could expect to hear in their lifetime was the tolling of church bells. Yeah, I'm sure eventually I'll miss refrigeration, but future in-the-past fowltemptress can be the one to worry about that.

Before mobile phones and digital cameras, when some thought was put into taking a photograph (so that you would not waste film), and when people still hand wrote out thank you notes. However, I am thankful for the medical advancements of the present.
