I don't use a nozzle, I just put my thumb over the end. It's pretty easy to spray anything that needs to be sprayed that way. (Like siblings, or chickens...)

If I use a nozzle it's jet. Don't see a reason to use the others.
And what's with the flat or fan setting when it has a vertical and horizontal one?
Couldn't it just have one or the other and if you needed the other direction you could hold it sideways like a gangster?
