Question of the Day - Monday, June 10th, 2024

I sort of like to cook. I like it when food turns out well. When it's only so-so or is a flop, I regret the waste of ingredients and time.

I read this somewhere...

Cooking be like jazz.
Baking be like Mozart.

I don’t like to do either, but cooking is preferred over baking. I like to make crustless quiche change up the ingredients a lot.

I guess you could say I like to do both. The satisfaction comes from seeing whoever I made it for enjoying eating it. And, I enjoy eating it myself.

I don’t know if I have a favorite. I do enjoy making different casseroles, and soups. I like to try new recipes. And, I think once I got so that I was comfortable making my own things, instead of just following a recipe, it really feels like an accomplishment.

It feels pretty good to have one of your kids tell you that something was really good, and one of the better things you had ever made. Plus, you know you have something to add to your portfolio. But, there are times when something needs to be axed.

I enjoy cooking, not so much baking. I'm not much a fan of dessert or bread, so it's harder to care about baking. I love making cottage pie. It's the first thing I ever made for my husband when we first started dating, and he requests it for every birthday, anniversary, and celebration he can think of.
