I was thinking that, because of the German surnames.It's in Hebrew, in a Jewish cemetery.
There are some amazing cemeteries here. It's one of the few perks of being a NYC suburb.
Forsythe NWR in NJ is beautiful like that. You can see a lot of shore birds and migrating ducks and such.I dunno...One of my favorite places is Ausable Marsh in northeastern NY. There is a footpath that goes straight through the marsh which allows for great views of marsh birds.
The oldest stones in the city date to around 1700. Here in the Jersey suburbs, it's similar. They used a lot of marble, though, which deteriorated in many places, so old stones can be very hard to read.I was thinking that, because of the German surnames.
I can imagine NYC must have some interesting cemeteries. I wonder if any of the original Dutch settlers’ graves still exist?
