I'm not big on rides. Whenever we'd go to any sort of amusement park I'd make a bee line to the stock shows and poultry barns. I loved petting the Budweiser Clydesdales and betting on the pig races. The Texas State Fair had a PHENOMENAL bird show - don't know if it's still there, but it involved all sorts of trained parrots, trained rats, and towards the end of the show they recalled a hawk from the top of the ferris wheel before the grand finale, which was an explosion of color with what seemed like thousands of birds and rats flying through the crowd and swarming the stage.

My favorite is probably in a fairytale forest/-amusement park in the Netherlands. The Efteling.
The name is Droomvlucht, meaning Dreamflight. Its a hanging darkride in a beautiful setting with dwarves, gnomes and fairies
