On your fishing pole, do you prefer open or closed face reels?

I prefer the open-faced. For whatever reason, me and closed faced don't get along.

I always called them either open or closed faced, but searching Google to find a picture that showed the difference, I discovered they're supposedly called something different, and there's another reel type:

How does one of those work?

There are a few adjustments on it such that you set depending on the size of the lure you are using as well as line weight etc.. The adjustments help you not to backlash which can be a mess lol

But, basically, you hold your thumb on the spool of line, press the button and cast. You also use your thumb to help to not backlash and control when it stops to hit your target area.

Simple operation once you have it set right. It does take practice, though.

And, yes, I called that one a spincast, but is just a "spinning" to be correct.
